Getting out of the Cold

The first day of our trip to Arizona has arrived!  We were up and off about 7:30 this morning.

We had the trailer packed yesterday...we thought.  It's amazing how much more stuff we found to take and had to take it out in the -18C weather this morning.  At least it was clear.

Until we got just south of Chatham.  The snow started and continued until south of Detroit.  A little treacherous around Windsor.  This photo is of the Ambassador Bridge.  A little blurry - must be all the snow.

Otherwise, the trip today was uneventful.  Here's a picture of the Hopple Street bridge in Cincinnati that fell onto the I75 southbound Monday night and killed a construction worker.  We thought we were going to have to take the by-pass around Cincinnati, but the interstate was open.

Bridge over the Ohio River and the state line between Ohio and Kentucky.

We made it to our destination in Florence, Kentucky, and a balmy 11C.  We found a nice little Mexican restaurant close to the hotel for dinner tonight.  Same meals - one using tortilla shells, and one not.  We were more stuffed than the tortilla shells.

Off to Birmingham, Alabama tomorrow through Louisville, Kentucky, and Nashville, Tennessee.
