Our Destination! TUCSON

We finally arrived in Tucson.  We left Jan 21st and arrived today.  That's 12 days in total and 8 of those days were driving for a total of about 4,300 kilometres.  Whew!

The hills/mountains are getting a little higher.  We did have some fog this morning, so it's still pretty low here.

And we've arrived in our destination state...Arizona.

For over 100 miles, we kept seeing billboard signs about "The Thing".  I loved the old movie called "The Thing".  I think it was a hand crawling around.  The billboards said "The Thing was coming, or stop and see The Thing".  It's amusement for a llllooonnnngggg  drive.  We finally saw where "The Thing" was...but we didn't stop.

Ok - I'm tired of these signs.

This looks like Arizona.  Even though it's very desert-like, it's beautiful in it's own way.

Trying for a natural Inukshuk?

We've arrived at Rincon Country West RV Resort in Tucson - and finally got backed into our spot.  A little tricky.  And we were struggling a little because the power and cable were too far away for the length of cables we had.  Gerard did a little complaining, and a guy at the office had these things we could borrow.  He came over and connected everything, so we're good!  This is our palm tree out front.

It's an interesting spot because we're among all these park models.  They offered to let us move, but we had already unhooked, and our neighbours had all been over, and we liked them!  So we didn't want to move.  We like our spot, and we have a driveway!

So that's pretty much it for today.  We went off to do some grocery shopping and picked up a couple of other little things for the trailer that I won't bore you with.  We ended up watching the Superbowl starting from about half time.

Tomorrow will be cleaning up and doing laundry.  Since we've been on the road for over a week, it's time to do some of these things.

  1. Glad you made it! Your spot looks like it would be a challenge to get in to but looks nice. Hope you enjoy it!

  2. It was a bit of a challenge. But our neighbour across the road told us we did (well, maybe Gerard did) the best job of putting any rig in here yet!
